Parent Pick Up and Drop Off

Please be informed of our pick up / drop off procedures:

Dropping Off Students

  • Doors will be open beginning at 7:10am. Only students arriving after 7:10am will be allowed in the building.
  • Parents/guardians should enter the parking lot, drive through FHC’s parking lot, follow the flow of traffic to the front of Saeger, and then drive around the back of the building. 
  • Students will be dropped off at one of three drop-off zone areas. These areas:
     
    • 6th grade - door number 9
    • 7th grade - door number 16 & 17  
    • 8th grade - door number 16 & 17
       

  • Adult supervision will be provided from 7:10 am - 7:30 am.  

  • If arriving after 7:30 am, students must be dropped off at the front of the building.

  • The drop-off zone is intended for quick stops to allow students to exit the vehicle safely.

  • Please ensure that you pull up as far as possible in the drop-off lane, enabling other vehicles to drop off their children efficiently.

  • Remind your child to be ready with their belongings, and exit the vehicle promptly when it comes to a complete stop.

  • For your child's safety, avoid stopping in non-designated areas, such as crosswalks or bus loading zones.

  • After your child has exited the vehicle, follow the directions of school staff or crossing guards to safely exit the drop-off zone.

Afternoon Dismissal

  • School is dismissed at the following times:

    • Regular days- 2:30 pm 

    • Early release Wednesdays- 1:45 pm

    • Half days- 11:35 am
       

  • Parents should enter the parking lot by making a left, and follow the drive way around the back of the building.  

  • Prior to the 2:30 pm dismissal time, cars may pull forward to the pick-up zones.

  •  Students will be picked up at one of three drop-off zone areas. These areas:

    • 6th grade - door number 9

    • 7th grade - door number 16 & 17

    • 8th grade - door number 16 & 17
       

  • If the pick-up lane is full, vehicles will be directed to the staging area, located in the front parking lot (near basketball hoops). 

  • Vehicles may travel forward using the left lane to pass, but cars must be in the right lane to pick-up a student. 

  • Staff members will be on duty to assist in directing traffic. 

  • After buses are released, cars in the staging area will proceed through the pick-up line behind the building. 

  • Similar to drop-offs, please pull up as far as possible in the pick-up lane to allow other parents to pick up their children efficiently.

  • Display patience and follow the guidance of school staff to ensure a smooth flow of traffic.

General Expectations

  • Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations when driving in and around the school premises.

  • Avoid consuming tobacco, alcohol, marijuana, or other banned items while on school property.

  • Avoid using mobile devices while driving on school property to maintain focus and attentiveness.

  • If you need to exit your vehicle for any reason, please park in the designated parking spaces to ensure the safety of all students and pedestrians.

  • Always use crosswalks when crossing the road, and encourage your child to do the same.

  • If your child has a specific need or requires assistance during drop-off or pick-up, please communicate with the school in advance so that we can accommodate their needs appropriately.

Walkers and Bike Riders

  • Students who walk or ride a bike home will wait in the cafeteria and be dismissed once the buses have safely left the parking lot. 

  • Parents/guardians may NOT park at FHC and wait for their Saeger children.

  • Students are expected to only use available crosswalks when traveling between Saeger and FHC campuses.
