Club Advisor: Dyer

Saeger Middle School Art Club is open to any current student. The club meets every Tuesday after school and will begin on the first Tuesday of September from 2:35 - 3:35 pm.

The Art club is for any student who wants to improve on their art skills, enjoys creating art, wants to learn new techniques and learn to use and apply different art materials. The club promotes imagination, creativity, and engaging in problem solving skills. Creating work that excels what they would do in a regular art class. At the club meetings we will be sharing and collaborating together as a group. Making new friends and learning from each other. Come join our group to become the next future artist’s of Saeger Middle School!

Cross Country is a distance running activity. The season begins the third week of school with practices on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30 p.m. until 4:20 p.m. Meets begin the third week of September where the girls run first at 4:00pm and the boys run second at 4:20 p.m. This is a pay to play activity, in addition to the activity fee.

Participation cost includes: bus transportation to meets, team t-shirt, end of season pizza party, and racing supplies to host meets. The cost is $35 per individual, $50 for two participants, $75 for three participants. Participation is open for 6th through 8th grade.

Saeger Middle School Drama Club is open to any current student. All meetings are held monthly after school in room 6. During after school rehearsals students will participate in drama related activities, discuss upcoming auditions, rehearse, participate in crew, and plan future events.

The Drama Club produces at least two main stage shows per year. Open auditions are held twice a year. You do not have to take a drama class to participate in a show. Students may also participate in the following crews: lights, sound, set, props, makeup, and costume. Working on the crew is on a volunteer basis. Shows are rehearsed at school and performed at Saeger, a nearby district school, or at the Francis Howell Central Auditorium.

FCA’s (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) purpose, at its core, is to combine people’s passion for sports with their passion for Christ, and teach them that those two worlds don’t have to be separate. FCA wants to give meaning to the athletic nature that all of us are born with and use it for something that stretches beyond sports. All current Saeger students are welcome.

Intramurals are a fun way to stay involved after school. They meet once a week, but more than one might be offered per week. Intramural activities vary per year at SMS because we try to include the latest activities that interest students. Activities may include, but are not limited to: volleyball, basketball, table tennis, soccer, weight room, Just Dance, gator ball, and ultimate frisbee.

Club Advisors: Crepps & Steck

The Saeger Jazz Band and the Saeger Jazz Workshop are open to members of the 7th or 8th Grade Band at Saeger Middle School by audition. Our jazz ensembles typically use a traditional “big band” personnel list - saxo-phones, trumpets, trombones, drum set, vibes, bass, guitar, and piano - but all instruments may audition. Students may audition on more than one instrument, and auditions are held in early September. Once the auditions are complete, students will be placed into one of the jazz ensembles, and they will receive the rehearsal schedule for that group. Both of our jazz ensembles perform at concerts and events throughout the year.

In addition to the FHSD activity fee, there is an additional club fee that can be paid on the webstore for group t-shirts and events. If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Crepps.
